Greetings Friends, Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Robert Nicholas, PE, a licensed, registered, professional structural engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. I founded X-Solutions, Inc. specifically to cater to the needs of the residential home owner, their realtors, and contractors. Most structural engineers work primarily with architects and builders on large projects, and are unwilling to address the needs of homeowners, realtors, and small contractors on short notice and for a reasonable fee due to their insurance and liability concerns. Home Inspectors are invaluable to the home buying and selling process, but are not qualified to determine if there are structural/foundation problems. While Foundation Repair companies may be scrupulous and ethical, they could also have a conflict of interest in that they have a stake in the outcome of their inspections. They make their money by selling you piers. I would like to offer my services as an independent structural consultant. I can help resolve concerns about potential structural and foundation problems or provide structural consultation on modifications or additions to an existing structure.
